We’re looking for new Trustees

Interested in finance for non-profits? Would you like to become a Trustee of the EES? Let’s get you ‘on Board’!

The Egypt Exploration Society (EES) is the UK’s leading charity and British International Research Institute supporting and promoting Egyptian cultural heritage since our founding in 1882.

The EES is entering an exciting new phase thanks to the award of several grants and generous donations totalling £4 million to enable the redevelop its premises in Doughty Mews, London. The Building the Future Campaign will improve access to the EES collections, enabling more people to be involved in its work while creating a sustainable future for the Society’s charitable activities.

In response to this increase in funding, the Society’ Board of Trustees has decided to strengthen its Finance Committee, which its Development Committee reports to.

If you have an interest in financial processes for non-profits, then we’d love to hear from you. Please send an email to [email protected] to express your interest along with a completed application form.

If successful, you would be co-opted to the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee before being recommended by the Board of Trustees at the Annual General Meeting in November 2027 when members will have the opportunity to formally elect you to the Board of Trustees.

All regular Board and Committee meetings are held online via Zoom and travel is not required. In-person attendance at Strategy Days and Society events is always appreciated where possible.

This process is open and has no fixed deadline, though we hope to fill the position by April 2027.
