Temple Ritual at Abydos
The Temple of Seti I at Abydos is one of the great monuments from the New Kingdom. Originally published in two now long-out-of-print but much sought-after classics, Religious Ritual at Abydos (1973), and A Guide to Religious Ritual at Abydos (1981), this updated edition unites these two titles and incorporates new material. It will guide you through the temple's magnificent reliefs and wall paintings and explain the scenes of ritual and worship. New material includes a complete set of translations of the ritual inscriptions with their transliterations, line drawings of the temple scenes, photographs from the archives of the Egypt Exploration Society, and some of the outstanding watercolours by Amice Calverley and Myrtle Broome that were published between 1933 and 1958.
