The EES bids a fond farewell to Dr Essam Nagy, Fieldwork and Engagement Manager since 2013.

Please join us in wishing Dr Essam Nagy a fond farewell and all the best in his future projects as he leaves the EES Cairo Office after 12 years as EES Fieldwork and Engagement Manager.

During his time with the Society, Essam has helped to pioneer several educational programmes and opportunities including English Language Training via the British Council and a range of training courses on topics such as heritage management, museum skills, epigraphy, and archive curation.

As well as facilitating important knowledge exchange between Egypt and the UK, Essam also continues his own EES-affiliated research project at the Osiris Ptah Nab-Ankh chapel in Karnak and completed his PhD in 2024.

We’d like to thank Essam for his work over the years and wish him all the best in his next endeavour.

Our Cairo Office will remain closed until we replace Essam. If you have any questions in the meantime, then please do not hesitate to contact our London Office. Thank you for your patience, and our apologies for any inconvenience caused by this temporary closure.
