A New Chapter for the EES Library

After many years located in 4 Doughty Mews, the former home of Argentinian-American Egyptologist Ricardo Caminos, the EES library has now left the building as part of the organisation’s next chapter. The move marks an important moment for a collection that has long been at the heart of the EES community, supporting research, learning and countless hours of discovery.

The library has been an essential resource for staff, members, and researchers alike. As the last boxes of books were transported out of the building on 5 May 2026, leaving behind rows of empty shelves, a few members of the team felt incredibly emotional. However, we can now look back with gratitude on the library’s place in the life of the EES, and look forward to its return in 2028 to a redeveloped space as part of the Building the Future project.
