In 2022, the Egypt Exploration Society celebrates its 140th anniversary. For almost one and a half centuries it will have supported and promoted Egypt’s unique cultural heritage, for the collective benefit of future generations. At a time when heritage feels more at risk than ever, we remain at the forefront of this endeavour; safeguarding ancient sites, training the next generation of scholars and funding vital research by way of grants and scholarships.

Our vision for 2022, is to make our income streams more sustainable and ensure that our capital assets are capable of supporting an outstanding programme of education and training; fieldwork and research; print and online publications. We plan to undertake a major refurbishment of our London office and build our unrestricted income to as much £250,000 a year. The capital work will include; creating a safe and temperature-controlled home for our collections, modifying our building to make it more accessible and enable us to establish hub for heritage and learning, and creating up to three self-contained flats to provide a rental income for ongoing sustainability. To achieve these goals, it is important that we understand more about our supporters and friends of the charity so that we may inform our future strategies and continue to grow.

Therefore, we would be very grateful for your confidential opinions during this short survey which should not take more than 10 minutes.
