Visit us and explore the fascinating history of Egypt through a photography exhibition, craft activities, self-guided tours of the home of American-Argentinian Egyptologist Ricardo Caminos, or relax with a hot drink (and cakes) and a book - about Egypt, of course! Better yet, treat-your-shelf at our discount second-hand book sale.
Fundraising Activities
Explore pottery-making and create your very own piece of the new EES premises in our special fundraising medallion workshop! Enjoy a short talk on ancient Egyptian ceramics by Thomas Clarke (exhibition assistant for Made in Ancient Egypt at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge), then have a go yourself by decorating your own clay medallion for display in our redeveloped building. Tickets cost £10 on the day, and multiple sessions are bookable on arrival.
This may be the last chance you'll have to visit the home of the Egypt Exploration Society before it undergoes an entire refit as part of our Building the Future campaign! EES Staff will be on hand to discuss our redevelopment plans with you. We will be fundraising through various activities on our Open Day to meet our final target and make this a reality. Donate today by clicking below. Walk these walls that are etched with the memories of all the Society has achieved since moving to Doughty Mews in 1968, and bid them farewell until our reopening in 2028.

Accessibility
Please note that our premises do not currently have step-free access. Our doorways are narrow, internal spaces are accessed via steps and stairs, and our one toilet is at the top of a spiral staircase. These accessibility issues will be resolved by the coming redevelopment; we look forward to being able to accommodate a wider diversity of needs in future.
Booking and information
Please ensure that you have read our guide to attending EES events before the event begins. This in-person event will be videoed and photographed for use in marketing and promotional materials.
