Lives in Egyptology: the story of Who Was Who

Hana Navratilova presents Who Was Who in Egyptology, outlining current priorities to enhance this vital resource towards a comprehensive and inclusive history. Start time: 13:00 (UK) / 15:00 (Egypt)

Hear from the current editor about Who Was Who in Egyptology, which is a biographical repository with entries on Egyptologists, explorers, archaeologists, field workers, collectors, and others active in the field. It is a special EES project, and it is both a privilege and a responsibility to look after an important part of the disciplinary memory of Egyptology, as shown in biographical entries collected by previous editors and continuously updated and added. It is also a team effort, and our current priorities are focused on incorporating a diverse range of people. We believe that the format of an online biographical dictionary is well-suited to providing a vital resource for comprehensive and inclusive history.
