Job vacancy: Development Officer The Egypt Exploration Society has supported and promoted Egyptian cultural heritage since 1882. Over the past century, we have explored more than 150 sites and monuments, published more than 350 volumes of scientific research, and engaged thousands across the world with Egypt’s unique past. However, our London headquarters is currently endangered by two neighbouring trees that are causing serious structural damage. When we succeed in resolving this issue necessary repairs and rebuilding will be required. We aim to take this opportunity to redevelop our premises to be more accessible for members and the public, opening up our specialist library and archives, staging events and exhibitions, and welcoming everyone with an interest in learning more about Egyptian cultural heritage. The Development Officer will be critically important in helping achieve our future vision. Therefore, we need an enthusiastic and resourceful person to work closely with the Director in supporting the repair and redevelopment of our three mews buildings by managing a Capital Campaign aimed at raising at least £2m between 2022 and 2025. The successful applicant will be engaging, energetic and creative about fundraising, caring about cultural heritage, and becoming a committed and flexible member of our small team.
