Funding available for research The Egypt Exploration Society, the leading UK organisation carrying out archaeological fieldwork and research in Egypt today, invites applications for grants from its Centenary Fund. The total value of the Award will be in the region of £5,000 per round. This sum will be divided among several applicants in each round, and the maximum any single project will be allocated is unlikely to exceed £2,500. Full details and eligibility criteria can be found here. The Centenary Awards are intended to encourage early-career Egyptologists: applicants must be current postgraduate research students or within five years of having been awarded their PhD. Two rounds of Centenary Awards will be offered in 2021-22 to expand support for projects as the world recovers from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. In recognising the impact of the global health crisis, the Society welcomes applications to support archaeological fieldwork, museum/archive-based research, publication/dissemination or engagement activities. Any proposed activity should follow local laws and guidelines with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. The closing date for applications in the first round is 17:00 (GMT) on Friday 25 June 2021. No application received after that date will be considered. Interviews will not be held; applications will be considered by the Society’s Research Committee in July 2021 and applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application no later than 30 September 2021. All applications, together with the required references, must be submitted electronically to: [email protected]. Applications for round two will open in October 2021 These Awards are made possible thanks to the generous contributions from our members and supporters around the world. We would like to thank our supporters for enabling us to offer these opportunities and look forward to receiving your applications. Manage Cookie Preferences
