Piecing together the unpublished Pan-Grave cemetery at Armant

Pan-Grave sites are few and far between, and almost all of them are now entirely lost to the waters of Lake Nasser or modern urban expansion. Most of the sites that we know of have been published even in some limited way, but this is not the case for cemetery 1900 at Armant. Everything that we know about the site comes from archives preserved by the EES and by objects scattered across multiple museums. These tantalising traces are enough to get a sense of the character of Cemetery 1900, and of the enigmatic people who were buried there.

Join Aaron De Souza as he uses archives at the EES to recover Cemetery 1900 at Armant and the people buried there.
