This talk will discuss two unprovenanced and unpublished ancient Egyptian headrests from Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery, Merthyr Tydfil (Wales, UK) and connects these with sensory experiences inherent in the material culture. It also highlights the physical relationship of the material objects and the human body. With the additional help of experimental and experiential archaeology, we can bring the objects and senses of the past to life.

Join Dr Katharina Zinn (University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Lampeter) as she explores Egyptian headrests and their use using two case studies.
