There are few characters in the EES archives more tantalising than Hilary Waddington – architect, surveyor, camera man, and film producer. His long and varied career in archaeology begins with the EES and his well-documented involvement at Tell el-Amarna under the direction of John Pendlebury. Susan will present some of the archives at the EES, some objects held in the Petrie Museum from Amarna, and the film footage of excavations at Amarna during the 1930s.

All lectures are free and there is no need to book in advance.

For a full day of FREE Egyptology, why not join the Friends of the Petrie Museum for their evening lecture from 18:30. Details available on their website here: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/FriendsofPetrie/pages/Events1.html
