Since 1882, the EES has provided support for academic research and publication ensuring that Egyptological scholarship had appropriate avenues for dissemination and distribution.

In 1914, the Society launched the Journal of Egyptian Archaeology which has since become the hallmark of Egyptological reporting and since 2019 has enabled researchers to submit articles through our online Sage Track system.

This online skills session will provide a guide to getting published in the Journal of Egyptian Archaeology including a discussion of the JEA’s house style guide and referencing system, the online submission portal Sage Track, and information on the peer reviewing process.

In 2020, the Society launched the Mentoring for Egyptian and Sudanese Authors (MESA) scheme which aims to provide support for Egyptian and Sudanese authors publishing in the JEA. This scheme will be discussed in more detail during the skills session.

Speaker

Dr Stephanie Boonstra has been Managing Editor of the Journal of Egyptian Archaeology since 2019 and oversees submission, peer review, and copyediting of all articles for the JEA.
