Histories & Legacies of EES Excavations

Egypt Exploration Society teams excavated hundreds of thousands of objects between 1883 and 1983 which are now housed in museums across the world. This talk will look at some of the stories behind the journeys such objects took as well as some of the issues in their modern presentation in museums and how they are meaningful for Egyptian communities in Egypt today.

Join Dr Alice Stevenson, Assistant Professor of Museum Studies at UCL's Institute of Archaeology and author of Scattered Finds, as she discusses her work on the distribution of artefacts from excavations in Egypt.
