Join the EES fieldwork team on 16 July 2019 for a special summer lecture exploring the current work of the EES on the Third Cataract of the Nile. This lecture will present the results of a preliminary survey conducted in February 2019 in and around the local Sudanese village of Uraaw including: a Classic Kerma-New Kingdom Egypto-Nubian settlement, several cemeteries, some previously unpublished Nubian rock art, and the natural wonders of the Third Cataract region. This project is the first to systematically investigate this region, its culture, and the life and death of those that lived here almost 3000 years ago.

Join us for a summer evening exploring ancient Uraaw.
