Description

Tell el-Daba, 'Avaris' of the Hyksos kings who ruled Egypt in the Second Intermediate Period, claims our imagination as thoroughly as other legendary sites in Egypt. Like them, excavation has produced some amazing results: horse burials, Minoan-style frescos, Aegean jewellery, and most recently a cuneiform tablet demonstrating their international standing.

To be followed by a Reception in the Petrie Museum

Tickets GBP10 Friends of the Petrie Museum
GBP15 for other guests, GBP5 for full-time students
